Terms of Service

Terms that apply to using BubbleBridge.

These Terms of Service govern the use of BubbleBridge (the "Service") provided by the BubbleBridge operator (the "Company", "we", "us", or "our") and set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Company and users.

These Terms apply to users in Korea and users outside Korea. Depending on where you live, where you use the Service, whether the Company targets your country, and whether paid services are offered, mandatory local laws on consumer protection, privacy, e-commerce, payments, refunds, or digital services may also apply.

1. Purpose

These Terms set out the conditions for using the Company's manga image OCR and AI translation service, including the rights, obligations, responsibilities, and service conditions between the Company and users.

2. Definitions

  1. "Service" means the BubbleBridge web service that recognizes text such as speech bubbles in manga-style images uploaded by users and provides translation results.
  2. "User" means an individual or entity that uses the Service under these Terms.
  3. "Consumer" means a user who uses the Service for personal purposes rather than business, trade, or professional purposes.
  4. "Uploaded Content" means images, text, files, and other materials entered or uploaded by a user.
  5. "Processing Results" means OCR results, translations, display markers, analysis results, and similar outputs generated from Uploaded Content.
  6. "External Processor" means a third-party service provider used by the Company to provide OCR, translation, infrastructure, security, authentication, payment, or related services.
  7. "Mandatory Local Law" means consumer protection, privacy, e-commerce, payment, refund, digital content, or digital service laws in the user's residence or service-use region that cannot be excluded or limited by contract.

3. Posting and Changes

  1. The Company posts these Terms in the Service or through a linked screen so that users can easily review them.
  2. The Company may change these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  3. If the Company changes these Terms, it will announce the changed terms, effective date, and reason for the change for a reasonable period before the effective date. For material or unfavorable changes, the Company will give at least 30 days' prior notice.
  4. If a user continues to use the Service after the effective date of changed Terms, the user may be deemed to have accepted the changed Terms. If separate consent is required by law, the Company will obtain separate consent.
  5. If Mandatory Local Law requires stricter notice, consent, withdrawal, or termination procedures, the Company will comply with those requirements to the extent required.

4. International Use and Local Laws

  1. The Company is a Korea-based service operator, and the Service may be accessed from multiple countries or regions through the internet.
  2. Users are responsible for complying with the laws of the country or region where they use the Service. Users must not use the Service where use of the Service, processing of Uploaded Content, or use of Processing Results is prohibited or restricted.
  3. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights, remedies, or legal warranties that users have under Mandatory Local Law.
  4. If the Company expressly targets a specific country or region, separate regional terms, additional notices, consumer-rights disclosures, refund policies, or privacy notices may also apply. If regional terms conflict with these Terms, the regional terms prevail for users in that region.
  5. Users must not use the Service in a way that violates economic sanctions, export controls, trade restrictions, or similar laws.

5. Service

  1. The Company provides the following features:
  2. Text area detection in uploaded images
  3. Text recognition through OCR
  4. Translation results through AI or machine translation
  5. On-screen display of translation results
  6. The Company may change, suspend, or limit Service features for service quality, stability, legal compliance, or operational reasons.
  7. The Service may include AI-based results. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of OCR or translation results.
  8. The Service does not provide verified advice for professional translation, legal, medical, financial, safety, emergency, or other high-risk decisions. Users should independently review Processing Results before using them for important purposes.
  9. This section does not exclude rights regarding digital content or digital services that are guaranteed by Mandatory Local Law.

6. Service Limitations

The Company operates the Service under the following principles to protect copyright and user rights.

  1. Uploaded Content and Processing Results are used only for temporary processing to provide the Service.
  2. Original images, OCR text, and translation results are not stored after processing is complete. Account, customer support, security logs, usage metadata, and other information that is not Uploaded Content or Processing Results may be processed under the Privacy Policy.
  3. Uploaded Content and Processing Results are not used for AI training, model improvement, or dataset creation.
  4. The Service does not provide public share URLs, public galleries, public feeds, or community posting features as a default principle.
  5. The Service does not provide crawling, automatic downloading, DRM circumvention, or access-control bypass features for webtoon, manga, e-book, or image platforms.

7. Accounts and Authentication

  1. Users may use the Service through login methods provided by the Company or through external authentication providers.
  2. Users are responsible for keeping their accounts and authentication information secure.
  3. Users must promptly notify the Company if they become aware of unauthorized use of their account or authentication information.
  4. The Company may limit account use or request additional verification for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

8. User Obligations

Users must not:

  1. Upload images that they do not own or are not lawfully authorized to use.
  2. Infringe third-party copyrights, trademarks, publicity rights, privacy rights, trade secrets, or other rights.
  3. Upload content copied without authorization from paid webtoon, e-book, manga, or similar platforms, or distribute translation results.
  4. Publicly distribute, sell, repost, share, or commercially use Service outputs without permission from the rights holder.
  5. Interfere with the security, stability, or normal operation of the Service.
  6. Send excessive requests using automation tools, bots, scripts, or similar methods.
  7. Bypass usage limits, regional restrictions, access controls, or security measures of the Service or External Processors.
  8. Violate laws, these Terms, Service notices, or public order and morals.

9. Uploaded Content and Rights

  1. Users represent that they have the rights or lawful authorization necessary to use Uploaded Content with the Service.
  2. Users are responsible for claims, disputes, and damages arising from Uploaded Content or Processing Results.
  3. The Company may temporarily process Uploaded Content only to the extent necessary to provide the Service.
  4. The Company does not acquire ownership of Uploaded Content or Processing Results.
  5. If Uploaded Content includes personal information or third-party rights-related information, users must have lawful authority or consent to upload and process that information through the Service.

10. Copyright Infringement Reports and Measures

  1. Rights holders may report alleged infringement related to the Service by emailing bubblebridge.contact@gmail.com.
  2. Reports should include rights-holder information, the allegedly infringed work, supporting rights documentation, the reason for the claim, and contact information.
  3. The Company may review the report and, if necessary, limit service use, restrict accounts, block content processing, preserve necessary information such as request metadata, or take other necessary measures.
  4. The Company may restrict users who repeatedly infringe others' rights.
  5. If copyright notice, counter-notice, or online service provider limitation procedures apply in a specific country or region, the Company may operate additional procedures to the extent required by law.

11. Privacy

The Company protects personal information processed through the Service according to the Privacy Policy.

12. Paid Services, Payments, and Refunds

  1. The Service is currently provided for free, and users are not charged service fees.
  2. If the Company provides paid services, it will display fees, payment methods, subscription periods, cancellation methods, refund standards, taxes, and fees in the Service.
  3. Withdrawal of purchase may be restricted after digital content or online services begin. In that case, the Company will provide clear prior notice as required by law.
  4. If paid services are provided to users outside Korea, Mandatory Local Law on currency display, taxes, automatic renewal, cancellation, refunds, withdrawal, or cancellation rights may additionally apply.
  5. Details on refunds and withdrawal of purchase are set out in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

13. Service Suspension

The Company may temporarily suspend all or part of the Service for the following reasons.

  1. System maintenance, replacement, failure, or communication interruption
  2. Failure or policy change of an External Processor
  3. Force majeure such as natural disasters, war, epidemic, or power outage
  4. Requests from laws, administrative agencies, courts, or investigative authorities
  5. Security incidents or measures needed to prevent rights infringement
  6. Legal, sanctions-related, External Processor policy, or operational restrictions in a specific country or region

14. Limitation of Liability

  1. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of AI-based OCR or translation results.
  2. The Company is not liable for users' Uploaded Content, use of Processing Results, rights infringement, public distribution, or disputes with third parties, unless caused by the Company's intent or gross negligence.
  3. For free services, the Company is not liable to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  4. The Company is not liable for failures caused by External Processors, networks, user devices, or other causes outside the Company's direct control.
  5. These limitations do not limit liability, legal warranties, consumer remedies, or liability for intent or gross negligence that cannot be excluded or limited under Mandatory Local Law.

15. Restrictions and Termination

  1. If a user violates these Terms or applicable law, the Company may restrict use of the Service after prior notice.
  2. If there is an urgent rights-infringement risk, security threat, legal-violation risk, sanctions risk, or External Processor policy-violation risk, the Company may restrict use without prior notice.
  3. Users may stop using the Service or request account deletion at any time. Information that must be retained by law may be kept for the required period.
  4. If Mandatory Local Law requires separate procedures for restrictions, termination, refunds, or data deletion, the Company will comply to the extent required.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  1. These Terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Disputes between the Company and users will be brought before the court with jurisdiction under applicable civil procedure laws.
  3. Sections 1 and 2 do not limit non-excludable rights, remedies, or court access that Consumers have under Mandatory Local Law in their residence or service-use region.
  4. If separate regional terms apply to users outside Korea, the governing law or dispute resolution procedure in those regional terms may prevail.
